Girls Who Invest (GWI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing gender diversity and inclusion in investment management with a focus on growing the pipeline of women in frontline investing positions. Our vision is for 30% of the world’s investable capital to be managed by women by 2030. The organization accomplishes this through education, mentoring, internships, and a supportive community. In just six years, Girls Who Invest has experienced catalytic growth and has over 1,400 alumni. As Girls Who Invest continues to flourish and scale, the organization is at an inflection point to expand existing programs and to develop new initiatives.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a passionate, self-starter to work directly with the CEO and COO to support strategic planning, operational planning, and key stakeholder management. This role requires a combination of leadership and project management skills to advance GWI’s near- and mid-term priorities. The successful candidate will be analytical, a strong communicator, and skilled in working in a fast-paced, adaptive environment.
This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer in the near-term and will work across all GWI teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Planning
Support GWI’s multi-year strategic planning and bring to light the most critical opportunities and issues facing GWI and its stakeholders
Create concept decks to vet various strategic options to solve for these opportunities/issues and pitch new areas of growth for GWI
Work with COO to inform budgets and staffing models to align with proposed strategies/annual plans
Develop and manage a team workplan to ensure cross-GWI coordination
Project Management and Measurement
Manage specific projects resulting from the annual planning process
Contribute a well-rounded and diverse sense of what’s possible for each project. Push content ideas to be modern and distinct, but always with the end beneficiary in mind
Coordinate GWI’s data collection and measurement priorities
Build scalable, repeatable, and measurable processes to maximize efficiency within the role and GWI
Build core competencies and playbooks that can be efficiently deployed across several projects. Not everything needs to (or should) start from scratch
Establish and measure success criteria
Ensure on-time execution of key deliverables, balancing the fulfillment of team goals with the professional growth and satisfaction of individuals
Attend key meetings, where appropriate, and analyze and present back findings
Content Development
Prepare presentations, including data visualization, analytics, and background research for key meetings, conferences, speaking engagements, etc.
Work with partnerships team to contribute to high-quality fundraising pitch materials in a timely and accurate manner
Develop knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape
Manage GWI’s quarterly dashboard, including data tracking, analysis, and reporting
Coordinate with internal teams across the firm to create talking points and analytics on market or business-related issues
QUALIFICATIONS
Consulting and/or experience in asset management preferred
Proven experience developing and presenting strategies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Strong experience with Google Suite, Excel (including organizing and formatting), PowerPoint, project management systems, data collection and reporting
Adaptability to take on additional projects as needed by GWI staff
Comfortable with remote technology
Ability to work independently and in both an in-person and virtual setting
Ability to analyze, evaluate, form independent judgments, and think creatively
Ability to self-direct and manage projects and interact and build relationships across the team at different levels of seniority
Highly detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
