At GWI, we aim to create a program to inspire, educate and support young women so that they will become leaders in the asset management business.
Our program will create a meaningful pipeline of talented and motivated women who are well vetted and well prepared to enter the industry across all asset classes public and private equity, fixed income, credit, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, and to become skilled allocators of capital.
GWI’s mission depends on identifying promising young women and exposing them early to finance and investment concepts and industry professionals.
In 2016, our focus is on programs and curriculum for rising sophomores and juniors in college.
2016 PILOT PROGRAM
Over a 4-week intensive period, promising young college women will learn core finance and investment concepts and skills from some of the most respected business school professors in the country. This core curriculum will expose our students to all types of investments including public and private equity, fixed income, credit, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure, and will equip them with the skills required to excel in a career in asset management. The program will be enhanced by speakers from across the asset management industry, particularly senior women, and our students will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with some of the most influential leaders in the industry. We will also offer training in ethics from the CFA Institute, presentation skills, interview preparation, “field trips,” regional meetings and membership in the GWI community. Successful students who complete the program will be able to add the GWI credential to their resumes.
GWI is seeking applications from rising sophomores and juniors in colleges in the U.S. and will select a cohort of 30 women. The program will be held in Philadelphia on Penn’s campus (in residence) from May 31-June 24, 2016. Paid internships with industry leading asset management firms will be available immediately following the program to successful graduates from July 5-August 12, 2016.
Applications are due February 15, 2016.
In celebration of the launch of GWI, the inaugural program will be offered TUITION-FREE!
