Meet Notre Dame's Carl Ackermann

As the Girls Who Invest Summer Intensive Program expands to a second university in 2018, we are pleased to introduce you to Professor Carl Ackermann, GWI’s academic lead at Notre Dame.

Carl teaches financial management and personal finance to undergraduates at University of Notre Dame Institute for Global Investing (NDIGI) and Mendoza College of Business.

He holds the Nolan Professorship for Excellence in Undergraduate Instruction and has received over a dozen other major awards for his teaching and service. In 2012, Carl was named one of the ten favorite business professors nationwide. He has received the Senior Class Fellow Award many times, an award given to the Notre Dame community member who has made the most positive and lasting impression on the senior class. In 2016, he received the University's Grenville Clark Award, for the faculty member or administrator whose volunteer activities have best advanced the causes of peace and human rights. He holds an A.B. from Amherst College, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Girls Who Invest team is delighted to be collaborating with such a notable professor as we develop an inspiring inaugural program at the University of Notre Dame in 2018.
